Queen

Aubrey Kohls Dear Brown Swiss State Members,

It is both an honor and privilege to serve as the Brown Swiss Queen this year. From previous experiences of working with Brown Swiss members, I know I will learn lots, make new friends, and strive to represent this strong breed.

My family and I live on a registered dairy farm, milking roughly 70 cows, three times a day. I am the middle daughter of two brothers. Devin, the oldest is attending UW River Falls for dairy science. Dylan, the youngest is a seventh grader of Slinger Middle School. Next year I will be attending UW Madison, pursuing a degree in Dairy Science.

Both in school, and out I am very involved. This is my senior year at Slinger High, and I wanted to make it count. I am involved in the National Honors Society, as well as the Spanish Honors Society, Peers for Peers, SADD, Marching Band, and FFA. Outside of the classroom I am a member of 4-H, President of Junior Holsteins, as well as a member of the wonderful Brown Swiss Association.

Your Queen,

Cassie Mayer

Juniors

Hello!
My name is Olivia Koszarek and I am the 2010-2011 Brown Swiss Junior President. I will be a junior this fall at UW-Madison, majoring in Dairy Science. On campus, I am active in the Association of Women in Agriculture where I am currently the House Manager; Sigma Alpha Sorority, and Badger Dairy Club. I am from Hartland, WI but did not grow up on a farm. The first cow I ever met up close and personal was a spring yearling Swiss named Jorie, and I have loved the breed every since. Through the generosity of Tom and Joan Oberhaus, I have been able to show their Swiss through the Association’s lease program for the last seven years.
I look forward to getting to know the members of the Association, both junior and adult, this year. Hopefully I will see many of you at the National Convention and the State Show this summer. To stay connected with other junior members, be sure to join our Facebook group and look forward to more emails from me about upcoming events! If you would like to contact me or send me your most recent email, my email is okoszarek@wisc.edu .
