Hello to my fellow Brown Swiss enthusiasts!
I am very honored to represent this wonderful breed for the state of Wisconsin.
This year will definitely be full of new opportunities and faces! It will be exciting to meet all of you!
I am the sixteen year old daughter of Darrin and Michele Harn with one older sister, Katie.
We live on a small show heifer farm in Brooklyn, WI. Our goal is to raise heifers that do well in
the show ring, and then go on to make great cows. In the future, I plan to attend UW-Madison to pursue a degree in Dairy Science with an emphasis in genetics.
Currently, I am serving as the President of my 4-H club and am very involved in Jr. Leadership.
I’m very passionate about my local community, I have lead a huge community service project for children in the hospital.
In my spare time I also help lead a younger youth group at my church. I enjoy helping people,
and I hope this role gives me the opportunity to be a leader and helper!
Your 2011 Wisconsin Brown Swiss Queen,
Sara Harn

Hello Everyone,
Greetings! I am Cassie Mayer, the 2011-2012 Junior Brown Swiss President. This fall I will be a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin Madison, majoring in Dairy Science and Communications. On campus, I’m active in the Association of Women in Agriculture and Badger Dairy Club. This year I was also elected co-chair for the Badger Dairy Club yearbook, and will be serving as a business chair at World Dairy Expo.
Mayer Farm has been where I lay my hat, as well as grow my interest in Brown Swiss. My family and I reside on the edge of Slinger, with a small heard of about 70 cows both Swiss and Holstein. Although my family is relatively new to the Brown Swiss business, we have quickly become passionate for the brown-eyed beauty.
I look forward to getting to know the members of the Association this year, both junior and adult. Hopefully I will see many of you at the State Show this summer. Be sure to join our Facebook group to stay connected with other junior members, and look forward to more emails from me about upcoming events! If you would like to contact me or send me your current email, my email is cmayer2@wisc.edu or farmer_gurl02@hotmail.com.
Sincerely,
Cassie Mayer
